Exploring Spiritual Pain at Sarum College
13 September @ 09:00 - 12:00
The use of the word spiritual has become commonplace in many areas of life. We sometimes use it to describe people who are aware of their inner life and wish to attend to it outside of the strictures and structures of organised religion. It is a concept widely used in health and social care, and amongst those who offer skilled listening to people in need. It is a common part of religious people and communities who wish to engage, support, and help people with their pastoral needs. The spiritual can become acute in times of need, especially for example amongst those who are experiencing loss, grief, or bereavement.
This short online course will explore spiritual pain. It will offer an overview of how spirituality is pictured and defined. It will break open some of the literature that explores the nature of spiritual pain.
