Living well, dying well retreat at Shepherds Dene
15 October @ 09:00 - 17 October @ 15:00
Living Well Dying Well Training runs courses for people who recognise that death is a profoundly important human event. People come because they want to know more, or feel they have something to contribute. We have been offering training since 2011 and have pioneered the End of Life Doula role in the UK. Our focus is to train people to help others to feel safe and supported as they make the transition from this life into the mystery of what comes next.
We see a future in which informed family members, along with their friends and neighbours, End of Life Companions and Doulas, are more actively engaged with health and care professionals to open up the subject of death and dying to build confidence in our deeper intuition and knowing about death. End of Life Companions and Doulas are ‘ordinary’ people who, through our training, have gained the confidence, knowledge and skills to be with death and dying. They will have completed either the stand-alone Foundation Course or the Diploma Training, to achieve certification as an End of Life Doula.
We are delighted to be able to share the details of our residential foundation course in Shepherds Dene, Northumberland (Course code SDF24-1r). Shepherds Dene is a tranquil residential retreat house set in the beautiful countryside of Riding Mill, Northumberland. The Edwardian country house is set in 26 acres of grounds and is within easy reach of Newcastle, Durham and Carlisle. Full details of the course and how to book can be found here: Shepherds Dene Retreat House – Living Well Dying Well – End of Life Doula Training
