SUMMARY:Creative Repair retreat at Sarum College
DESCRIPTION:A Creative Repair Retreat course\n\nParticipants will be introduced to the theory and practice of Creative Repair\, a concept presented in my recently published book: ‘Creative Repair – Pastoral care and creativity’ (SCM 2023). There will be periods of reflection and silence and participants are invited to bring materials to practise their own creativity. There will be a mixture of tutor presentation and group work. Creative Repair will be considered as part of a rule of life. One or two case studies will be discussed\, allowing participants to reflect on their own pastoral settings. As a way into this weekend\, I will invite attendants to think of it as a mini-creative-pilgrimage. There will be an opportunity to reflect on work/life balance. As a group analyst\, I will encourage an interactive style of teaching and learning and thus be open to questions and ideas from everyone present. It is not necessary to have studied this before. All aspects of creativity will be considered

SUMMARY:Online meditation with the School of Contemplative Life
DESCRIPTION:Meditation in the Christian tradition is an ancient and simple way of prayer. \nOur purpose is to teach meditation as a simple path to peace\, community and oneness. Our vision is to help people establish peace in themselves and become places of peace in the world. \nEach session includes a short talk\, a period of silent meditation practice (preceded by some basic guidelines for anyone who is new)\, and an opportunity for conversation afterwards. \nThe sessions are guided by Chris Whittington. Chris spent a period of formation at Prinknash Abbey Benedictine Monastery and is the Founder of The School of Contemplative Life. \nYou don’t need to bring anything – just yourself. Try to find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed.

SUMMARY:Saints Quiet Day at the House of Prayer
DESCRIPTION:When the Saints go Marching in\n\nSaturday 30 May 2026\n10:00  16:00\nThe House of Prayer (map)\n\n\nLed by Anne Booth \nWhen the Saints go marching in\, do we really want to be in their number? In the Christian tradition we have the Saints\, whose stories and images are so familiar that they can feel like our heavenly friends and family\, yet sometimes their extraordinary examples of holiness can be hard to reconcile with our own more ordinary lives. How can we be inspired without being demoralised\, and how is God inviting us to live out our own call to sainthood? This day will explore the stories of the saints and their spiritualities\, and the fact and fiction which surrounds them. We will pray about and ponder the fact that they were real\, imperfect people\, and\, using the Gospels\, poetry and the writings of Thomas Merton\, consider the part they can play today in inspiring us to love God with all our hearts\, souls and minds\, and our neighbours as ourselves. \nStarts at 10am and finishes at 4pm. Please bring a packed lunch.

SUMMARY:Gospel music day at the Royal Foundation of St Katharine
DESCRIPTION:Junior Garr and The Spirituals: Gospel music and Prayer\n\n30th May 2026\, 10:15 – 16:00\n\n\nFollowing the wonderful day last year we are thrilled to host another of these powerful days led by Junior as he helps us explore how the rich spiritual anthems can enliven our call to Christian Prayer today. \nIt is a delight that The Spirituals have a close relationship with RFSK and so it is a joy to welcome Junior to lead this day with us. \nThe Spirituals were formed in October 2020 by music director\, Junior\, and arranger/ conductor Marsha B Morrison. Their first EP with the lead single ‘Wade in the water’ has gained over 10 million views on YouTube\, clearly there was a niche in the market and The Spirituals found it. The reimagining of spiritual anthems and songs is their speciality and fans across the world love it. This led the way for future projects\, more reimagined songs\, appearances on the BBC including Songs of Praise\, filming in the iconic St Paul’s Cathedral and Lambeth Palace
