DESCRIPTION:Icon-making Workshop\n\nWednesday 28 October 2026\n10:00  16:00\nThe House of Prayer (map)\n\n\nLed by Cari Bridgen  \nCome and make a Byzantine icon. This introductory course offers participants the opportunity to make an icon over six weeks. All materials will be provided including pigments and an authentic gessoed panel. With Cari’s guidance and support\, participants will be able to choose between two head and shoulders Byzantine images. During the course\, we will learn how to transfer the drawn image onto the panel\, mix pigments and consider colours\, and add layers of highlights beginning with the initial Proplasmos. We will not use gold leaf\, but there will be gold paint for haloes\, wings and garments. At the end of the course\, our icons will be blessed. \nPlease bring a packed lunch. This course will meet on six Wednesdays between 10am and 4pm on the following dates: \n\n\nWednesday 28 October \n\n\nWednesday 4 November \n\n\nWednesday 11 November \n\n\nWednesday 18 November \n\n\nWednesday 25 November \n\n\nWednesday 2 December

DESCRIPTION:Heartfulness Meditation\nEvery Wednesday 07:15pm to 08:00pm\n\nWe’re delighted to host a weekly Heartfulness Meditation session in our beautiful Library. \nThese sessions are always free of charge and you can also continue at home with support. Available now in 160 countries worldwide supported by volunteers.  Heartfulness meditation is based on ancient Raj Yoga but simplified for the times we live in. At its core is the soft and subtle energy of yogic transmission.
