Quiet Day at Ty Mawr Convent

11 May @ 09:00 - 15:00

Catherine of Siena’s ruthlessly sacrificial ‘engagement with the matter of this world’
with Dr. Jane Williams

Catherine of Siena (1347-1380) chose her own path in the world with
a breath-taking determination and rejection of convention. It is hard
for a modern audience to understand the connection between her
passionate and fiercely ascetic love of Jesus, and her confident and
gender defying engagement with politics at the highest levels of her
day. The day will explore the troubling and inspiring legacy of Catherine of Siena.
Jane Williams is McDonald Professor of Christian Theology at
St. Mellitus College, an Anglican theological college of which she was
a founder member.
